The system we've created around gasoline is incredible, it's so incredibly flammable that all it takes is a spark to make it explode, and yet, car fires and gas station fires are very rare.

Thought about this after filling a gas can for my snowblower, how I basically paid $7 to fill my 2 gallon plastic container with high explosive, to take home and use tiny contained explosions to throw snow into my yard.

I do all of my own vehicle maintenance, and am always really careful doing any work pertaining to the fuel system because of the hazards, but I mindlessly fill my vehicles with gasoline and it doesn't even cross my mind to be concerned about it while I'm waiting for the pump to finish.
