Anyone ever watch a movie with zero expectations and still get incredibly disappointed?

Just watched Michael Clayton

Awful awful movie. I went into it with zero expectations and left with 2 hours of my life gone, never to be returned. For starters, Clayton (Clooney) is the firms "fixer" but no part of the movie shows him as being good, decent, or even really doing his job. What does he fix at all in the movie? Other than the little sting at the end (which was the only decent part of the entire film), he doesn't do anything. That scene where he's repped as a miracle worker to some rich douche and just says "Oh yeah I'll get you a local lawyer" was fucking pathetic. Really? This is the firms "fixer"? Then you've got the horses. What the fuck? Why are there even horses there. Now, I noticed this mirrored the scene in his childs book. Which is cool if this were, I don't know, some kind of donnie darko style movie, but its not. It's just some nonsense fantastical element that has no relevance to the setting of the story and doesn't really do anything. Then you've got the antagonist, a woman who, apart from sweating a lot, doesn't really have any emotion other than "worried" and "really worried". Absolutely no part of the plot delves into the pedophilic relationship between the lawyer who later gets murdered, and the 16 year old girl whos farm is in a 6 year long suit against the big bad company, northtec (or something like that). Of course, at the end, when Clooney delivers a decent monologue to the main antagonist and she gets arrested, no detail is given on how deep into the whole thing all the other characters were. Also, the entire "failed bar" subplot was a fucking waste of time. What purpose did that serve? Was there ANYTHING that did for the story? Entire story can be summed up as "useless 'fixer' who doesn't even know his own role in the law firm fucks up throughout the movie until he magically pieces the puzzle together with the help of his now deceased pedo friend and gets the chief counsel of a bad companies law firm locked up" I'm going to forget that movie like a bad dream, but that's not goina stop me from ranting a little on how fucking worthless it was. Every single dvd, blu-ray, anything which had that movie on it could have been put to better use by being smashed to bits and swallowed dry. What a fucking waste.
