Almost every movie and tv show I've seen, the pilot of the main characters is practically invisible and they always die if they happen to crash. Its a shame because some pilots are actually their own cool characters.
In Red vs Blue, there is a pilot named "479er." She just as badass as the main crew because she back-sasses them, she's got an actual personality, and she's actually a good pilot. I wish more sci fi movies depict a pilot or gunner who can do their job and be their own character.
From what I've seen in the Marvel CU, they go out of their way to have the "Quinjet" be one of the main methods of transportation. But I don't remember anyone, other than the main characters, flying them. It would be awesome to see some random pilot one-up the superheroes with their awesome Quinjet skills.
I haven't seen The Last Jedi yet, but I'm hoping to see more of Po because he's dedicated pilot instead of a character with all around skills.
