As we all know, Disney's acquisition of Fox is a huge deal for the entertainment industry. But is it really a bad thing? Fox Studios still exists, and while there may be some shake ups with the executives I don't believe Disney is planning to complete dissolve them.
I read this article, and it's really just a list of reasons why the acquisition may end up "bad" for some people at some point.
People are saying that one less studio means we'd see a shift in the kind of movies released, but I don't see how this acquisition changes the Indie landscape (which is where a lot of good movies are made).
If Disney acquires Warner Brothers, then I think it would be time for most moviegoers to panic. But as of now, I simply don't understand how this deal hurts movies in the short or long run. I'd love to be proven wrong.
