I'm trying to find out the name of a movie my mother once saw. She describes it as a movie with a woman whose boyfriend (or husband) was a wounded soldier in a war field. She went looking for him, but wasn't allowed to go into the field. So she had to crawl around, evading the authorities and eventually found him lying wounded in a field of corpses, and she tried to bring him back alive.
That was the best way my mother could describe it, since she watched it back in either the late 60s or early 70s. She said it may have been a black and white film, but she's not sure if it came out around that time. She said people went crazy for it in her country around the time though, an English language film.
If anyone knows the name of the movie, I'd appreciate it. Thanks
