Clickbaity I know but I don't want to spoil anything so if you haven't seen the second trailer, please don't read this post or watch the trailer, the first trailer is fine though.
The second trailer spoils the plot and a major twist after the "Downsizing" procedure. Unless you where inquisitive and you may have been able to piece it together but the vast majority of people wouldn't have realised what the twist of the movie is.
The worst sin is that it was unnecessary, the first did a good job of setting up the world, showing the characters, famous actors even a bit of comedy but leaves out the most important part of the movie, the part that if seen while learning it with Matt Damon would be amazing to go through all the emotions with him and seeing him cope with this new life but because you know the twist from the trailer it won't have the same effect.
The second trailer was actually almost as good as the first, without one single scene it could have been better than the first.
Even the music choice for the music is amazing, a good song that seems just like a regular song at first but once you realise that some of the lyrics of the song convey the feeling of the protagonist it makes the movie that much better.
I know for sure I am never watching a trailer again, this could have been a really great movie. Also fuck cinemas, I work in one but fuck them for showing trailers before a movie, I will stand in the hallway to not see a spoiler if I have to.
End of rant.
I managed to not exactly spoil the movie but I'll still put up a spoiler tag because knowing there is a twist is a spoiler.
Why is it so hard for studios to not tell the story of the movie in the trailer?
