For full disclosure, I haven't read the book or seen the original miniseries, just the 2017 film and I did have a quick question I would to hear your input.
So in the movie it is explained that trouble befalls upon Derry every 27 years, does a lot of damage, goes away, then returns. At the end of the movie, the kids manage to defeat Pennywise and then form a pact to return in 27 years when he does as well.
So my question is, what was the point of defeating him if he was always going to come back?
Am I totally missing something? Any help would be great.
