To elaborate, I am referring to actors/actresses that have displayed great talent, but are never taken seriously either because they’re “too good-looking” or because of the types of films they make.
For example, I find Scarlett Johansson quite impressive. Her performance as Samantha in Her was impeccable, imbuing this character with such depth and humanity through just her voice. I also thought she did a great job hosting Saturday Night Live. That said, I feel like she isn’t taken seriously because of her looks.
Another example would be Brad “Character actor trapped in a leading man’s body” Pitt.
