What makes a great si-fi movie to me is it's ability to make me think about the possibilities the future holds or to help me imagine something far beyond our reach as humans that could actually be real. It may be an alien lifeform or amazing technology. The Titan was highly disappointing in every sense of a si-fi film. NATO attempts something that has never been done before, altering the DNA of humans.... yet they let their test subjects go home every day to live with their families yeaaaa great idea. If they hadn't gone in that direction then maybe it could have been something good. Also choosing a "mad scientist" villian, instead of the original problem being the world becoming inhabitable, created a film that felt like it belonged on TV.
