So one one my close friends was having a rough week (midterm/project season does that to everyone), and we had been talking about having an action movie night for a while, so I thought, why not tonight? A bunch of us got together, got some awesome fried chicken (Seoul Fried Chicken, if you're ever in Edmonton) and we put in the Raid and the Raid 2.
Now I was the only one that had seen these movies before, and was glad to revisit some movies I really love, but I especially enjoyed being able to share them with close friends and seeing reactions like when I first saw these movies.
We even geeked out for probably a good half hour after the two movies were done about how awesome all the choreography is and how much the camera work improves between the two movies (though the first is still a really solid movie). If you haven't seen the Raid/Raid 2, the kitchen scene alone in the second one is worth the price of admission.
Anyways, just wanted to share how movies were able to take a group of stressed out student's out of the flurry of university for a little bit, and let us vent our frustration by seeing people brutally beating each other with all things imaginable.
For next time, what is your guys' go to movies for escaping the stresses of reality?
