So I'm watching Excalibur, a movie from my childhood that seems to get worse over time in some ways, but I am still amazed at one scene:
When Arthur is helping defend Patrick Stewart's castle and the attacking knight refuses to acknowledge him because he's still a squire, Arthur just stops cold, says "your right, and you will be the one to knight me" damn if that scene doesn't work perfectly. The way the other knight's demeanor shifts and he goes from enemy to ally seems ludicrous on paper, but the actor just always gets me. Through the bad sound and dubbing, it still gives me chills when he kneels and pledges his allegiance.
Curious what other movies folks can think of that have major problems but still pull off excellent scenes despite their shortcomings.
