I was thinking about Logan today. To me it’s a pretty good movie brought down by a pretty weak ending. I mean it wants to be this gritty realistic take on x-men but it also wants to have a hopeful ending which makes zero sense in the world built in that movie. Trying to avoid spoilers but I got the feeling that everything would have gone to hell 15 minutes after the credits roll making the whole journey pointless. It’s not so much a plot hole as the movie wanting to have it both ways. Like having the weight and seriousness of a drama and also the catharsis of a superhero movie and it really doesn’t work because I just can’t see the craptastic world supporting a happy ending.
Are there any movies that you didn’t enjoy because you couldn’t suspend your disbelief enough?
