No character ever ruined a movie as much as the guy that got to play Tom in the 1974 version of The Great Gatsby. I wish Shooter McGavin have been old enough to play the role at that time.

Imagine MacDonald in that role especially in the first scene where you can tell the Tom character is just killing the other actor's will to perform properly. The entire gravity is gone from the scene and you never get the sense of Tom's seriousness and threatening nature. So the other characters languish in this lack a proper depth and foreshadowing. Sad. What I wouldn't give
