Ethics & Morality In Films

Is there a book or survey or publication that discusses ethics and morality of films and how to balance them with entertainment, edification, elevation etc.

This is a brief discussion with Michael Haneke here . Michael Haneke argues that film makers ought not to manipulate the audience into feeling something but ought to respect them and let them form their own opinions. He also feels that the Holocaust is too awful to be made responsibly into "entertainment".

Are there other discussions on informal oaths or etiquette for artists and filmmakers and movies which balance ethics with morality.

Who in your opinion is the most successful and ethical filmmaker (or at least most successful and innocuous filmmaker)?

Lastly, does anyone know if Spielberg has ever used product placement in any of his films (that he directed)? Does anyone have any opinions on looking at Spielberg's works through a moral lens ?
