I always thought he was a cool fun guy who enjoyed life and his friends(also smoking hot gf); knew things changed after highschool and people move on.
Saw it as a last ditch effort(Chicago) to help a friend of his out who he cared about and enjoy a few more innocent times in their lives before everyone moves on.
I read and hear people say he was an asshole. I never saw it that way. I saw it as someone who knows how life is and how things progress and change; and instead of working so much about the future, ya gotta live in the moment and help friends in process
