Hey all got a history question for you all today.
I vaguely remember watching a film about Ann Frank I think. And I think a family friend of the Frank or Otto's clearly stated the Germans knew they were losing the war for atleast 12 months before the battle of Berlin.
I think 1942-1943 the German high command knew they were deep shit.
The guy said on this film "Everyone with half a brain knows the Germans are losing the war!".
So that's my question so when did they knew this? I understand that well firstly a few things first.
I understand Hitler was very arrogant In his approaches he sacked or Threatened commanders who had more experience then him and If he didn't like something he sacked or scrapped a project.
For example when they attacked Russia, Hitler devoutly promised not to attack Russia In a treaty I think. Then suddenly launched a massive Invasion. I'm sure army generals warned Hitler of the bitter winters ahead and offered to delay It until the spring, but no know It all Hitler suggested they do It in his timing's and how he wanted It.
And I also read somewhere that many generals or people who worked in top secret projects or had lots of power within the german military that many of them were planning on grassing or surrendering to allied forces because they knew they were fucked many of them would turn themselves in to spys or would be willing to talks and trade secrets basically.
And also I heard years ago many tabloids and radios and German civilians In general were told Lies and false tales of victory to keep the public from panicking.
Obviously the first 2-3 years I think they were told the truth but I can imagine that they lied to keep the German civilian population from panicking.
So at what point did the Germans knew they were fucked?
