movie plotholes

Why are movies nowadays so full of plotholes (mostly scifi movies)

I'll put 3 recent examples

- Anihilation

- A quite place

- Bird Box

Particularly this three movies have a lot of plot holes, not like 1 or 2, they have several plotholes, and in some cases like "a quiet place" the whole movie is a plothole.

Is me? is this more and more common every year? and some people seems to be "ok" with plotholes?

A good example of an old Scifi movie with barely plotholes. (or maybe none)

Predator (1987)

I came across with some comments in movie Discussions posts where some users use to be angry with other users whom make rants about how some movies are full of plotholes.

I want to make clear that i'm not interested in to look smart or anything like that, I like coherence in scifi movies too, i love movies, I LOVE good movies where plots are coherent, if something happens that pulls me out of the movie a tingling begins in my brain telling me that somethig it's not right, so maybe in the process i'll keep enjoying the movie but not in the same way, while some other people don't even think or care about it, that's curious for me.

Although none of the movies I mentioned are bad, they are good movies, but they fail at some important points due to plotholes.

Maybe the comparisson is wrong or biased, but, this other movies I put as example pretend to be more profound or meaninfull than Predator, which it's plane and simple but effective, a bunch of guys vs an alien.

Are some movies today trying too hard to be meaninfull? and in the process they lost other things in the plot? it's correct to not care about plotholes if you have a meaninfull movie?

Maybe all movies have plotholes, the problem is when they break their own rules.
