Calvary (2014)

Last night I watched an Irish film called, 'Calvary'. Starring Brendan Gleeson as the main character, he plays a Priest in a small Irish town. Over the course of the movie, he checks in on his fellow townspeople and deals with a variety of problems. The film itself is very emotionally affecting, and has a lot of underlying messages about society, death, cynicism, forgiveness, and so on. Gleeson himself acts the hell out of this movie, and I think its a shame he wasn't nominated for Best Actor that year. The film is a great character study on Gleeson's, Father James, and shows a variety of emotions. If you haven't seen this film, please check it out, the director is John Michael McDonagh, the brother of Martin McDonagh, who many of you on Reddit might know directed 'In Bruges'. Please share thoughts and opinions on the film, thanks.
