More specifically, why everyone loves it? No, I don’t mean that sarcastically. I just finished watching it and while there were aspects of the film that were obviously done well (sound, acting, the cinematography specifically was stunning), I feel like I missed something that a lot of people must have seen.
To me, the movie was about a girl who gets pregnant and miscarries, but realizes she still has close friends and family to fill the void of the child she lost. But there was so much going on sometimes (the riots, her boyfriend joining the military(?), the man that she works for leaving his wife, etc) that feels sort of relevant but not super important to the story. That’s why I’m asking for someone to explain it to me. Because I feel like I missed a lot of the aspects of this story that make it feel so powerful to so many people. I think I just failed to pick up on it.
Thanks!
