Basically where a minor character or an extra or a group of them does something heroic, whether it's helping the hero or by saving him/her or someone else.
One example would be in Spider-man 2, where the passengers on the train stop Spidey/Peter from falling, carries him back into the train, keeps his secret (though none of them know who Peter is) and even tried to defend him from Ock. While cheesy (then again the entire trilogy is) I still think this is one of the best scenes in the superhero genre.
Another would be in Mary and Max which I will not spoil and just say it was so wholesome it made me cry.
