I've been rereading Blood Meridian and I might be alone in this but I personally think it would make a fantastic Movie. Obviously the James Franco Adaptation is not the way it should go but with an actual decent Director at the helm I think it could be done. The three major problems I would say would be

Getting the Permission to make the movie

Figuring out the perfect balance of violence. Obviously you can't make it as violent as the book because no one will watch it but you can't tame it down to much either. I think a few scenes of implied violence (Baby Tree) and a lot of brutal shown violence would be suitable
3.Getting Studios behind it. I think this is the most difficult, As a Long,Slow Brutally Violent Western with Dead Babies, Rape and Paedophilia is not really a very marketable product. But if you could find a way through this then I would say the hardest part is done.

Tobin: Willem Dafoe
Captain White: Kurt Russell
