Additionally, Bao and Spider-Verse were not against any biographies/documentaries. So there was always going to be a minimum of 2 winners that weren't biographies/documentaries either way.
Black Panther is the ONLY movie to beat a biography/documentary in the 2019 Oscars. There were 24 awards in total.
I feel like there needs to be a discussion about the very obvious bias sorrounding the Academy Awards and their tendency to pick biographies/documentaries over any other genre/type of movies/films. This is reflected not only in the over-whelming majority of winners but also the nominees selected being also mostly biographies/documentaries.
