Cold Pursuit is an American remake of the 2014 Norwegian film Kraftidioten. They both are directed by Hans Petter Moland. Spoilers ahead for those who haven’t seen the films.
Essentially Cold Pursuit is the exact same movie as Kraftidioten beat for beat with minor changes. Instead of Serbians they are Indians. The wife is Laura Dern haha. It takes place in America. Also the cops are a little more prominent in Cold Pursuit.
Overall, Kraftidioten was much better than Cold Pursuit.
Cold Pursuit did nothing to improve upon the original. They changed the wife getting fucking laid out to her dodging the punch and kneeing the guy in the balls which I thought was so lame. I thought they should have changed the final boss kill to him being penetrated by the massive tree.
Think about it. The tree impales his car, missing him by a few feet and then the dude gets shot right after. Have him die by the tree! Impale him with a giant tree that would be an awesome final kill! Lame.
Yeah overall Cold Pursuit was really lame but I quite liked Kraftidioten. For those who have seen one or both, what are your thoughts?
