I’m obviously way late to the game on this one, it was on my list forever and only just got around to seeing it. Terrific movie, can’t wait for #3.
My favorite part of both movies was how they built his character and reputation almost solely through other characters reactions to his name. His seemingly endless knowledge of obscure, local underworld services/secrets worldwide, and in turn their immediate knowledge and recognition of him. This is clearly a man the entire world knows you don’t fuck with.
My question is, (spoilers below) when the contract is put on his head, how is it that every single agent who comes across him seems to completely forget about his reputation/abilities, and acts like he’s this easy ticket to $7 million. For a guy who’s entire character is centered on literally everybody knowing he is not someone you fuck with if you like living, there’s an inexplicable number of people willing to fuck with him.
