Does Mean Streets have the entertainment value of Goodfellas?

Should I give this movie a try?

Masterpiece Gangster movies I loved are The Dark Knight and Goodfellas.

Masterpiece gangster movies that bored me are The Godfather, Taxi Driver and Pulp Fiction.

Is Mean Streets closer to the former group or the latter one?

Some people told me that Mean Streets was similar to Goodfellas. Goodfellas is my favorite gangster movie. I like fast paced story-heavy movies without long scenes dedicated to character development. Something story-related should be happening most of the time and character development should be a side-thing. 2 hours of character development like in The Godfahter and Taxi Driver bores me. The other thing that bores me is dialogue-heavy movies like Pulp Fiction, especially the kind of dialogue which doesn't contribute to the story. So story and entertainment-value are the first priority. After that, cinematography, performances and dialogue in that order.

The movies I'm considering for the future are Mean Streets and Heat. Are these the boring "great movies" or the entertaining ones?

EDIT- I've also watched The Departed. It was entertaining but I don't like movies with disappointing endings. I mean.. what is even the point of going through all of the story if they end it in an underwhelming/non-satisfying manner? The Departed didn't have much resolution in the end.
