Hi all! For those of you who are active on letterboxd, IMDB, or any other site to log and rate movies, I've come up with a challenge idea that I'd like to share with everyone to see if anybody is interested in participating in. If this has already been done before, feel free to let me know and surely all the credit belongs to the original creator.
In summary, starting from the 1910's to the 2010's, one movie will be chosen by the community through a poll each week to represent its respected era/decade. Movies will not be chosen by critical acclaim or popularity, but rather by their ability to represent what their time periods were like. I don't want to see the most popular movie of the 30's, 60's, 90's, etc. I want to see, feel, and experience what life was like in that time. I want to listen to the music, see the fashion, come face to face with the struggles endured in that time period through film. I want to be present in each era.
If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, awesome! If this takes off I plan on doing the same challenge but for other countries so those like myself can get more exposed to foreign film, and foreign culture/history as a whole. Below is the link to the list I've created that has some of the fine details, but like I mentioned there this is just a rough draft and I'm 100% open to suggestions. Feel free to let me know what you think!
