Splice

Dear god,

What a tragedy. Not 5 minutes ago I finished this movie and I am in complete awe of how honestly disturbing it is. Nothing actually scary was in the movie, but it just looked so wrong to exist at all. It reminded me of that morbidly depressing episode in fmalchemist brotherhood with the girl & dog but a movie and not animated, I regret watching it not because it was just so bad, but so wretchedly disturbing. Between the sex scene with Adrien Brody and the monster alien human animal hybrid, and the last 10ish minutes of the movie I don’t think I’ll ever be able to erase from my memory this cursed film. While there are some barely good parts, ultimately I couldn’t see past how awful it not only looked, but felt. I felt wrong watching this movie, and there wasn’t anything redeeming for me to try and reconcile with what I was watching.

Sincerely, a concerned viewer. P.S. if you haven’t seen it, I don’t recommend it. It’s not that good, the story is ultimately predictable, and the characters have little to no depth built up throughout the film. We meet everyone, and the “experiment” starts, it tries to play itself off as a horror film, but ultimately it’s just a cinematic imagining of what can go wrong with gene-splicing and playing god.
