Revisiting Spider-Man 2.

I rewatched Spider-Man 2 and I have to say that it is one of the best comic book films, 15 years on. The main story is great. Each act is well balanced and doesn’t feel rushed or crammed. Peter’s journey throughout each act is an absolute rollercoaster; from an unwilling hero, to a hero no more, to a triumphant victor. Doc Ock is incredible and is easily one of the best and underrated villains. Alfred Molina steals the show every time he’s on the screen. The script is genuinely compelling and well written. Yes it’s cheesy, yes it’s goofy at times but even so it tells the story in a appreciable way. The supporting cast is so good, especially Aunt May. Her words of wisdom in the backyard are some of the best speeches in a cbm. MJ is truly fine in the film and is definitely over-hated. The score is beautiful and captivating and never feels out of place or overstaying. Each action scene is really engaging, don't get me started on the train sequence. The acting throughout it was good. Tobey played Peter/Spider-Man well, same for Alfred Molina’s Doc Ock. Overall, it’s truly a masterpiece, in my eyes, and is one of the best in the comic book genre.
