In a Valley of Violence

Gist: A simple, but well made Western revenge story. Nothing new or amazing here, but a quality production.
Is this movie just John Wick, but a Western? Uh, kind of. The primary strength of this movie is not its script. It all plays out more or less how you might predict once you get about 30 minutes into the movie. The strength of this movie is that it is:

well acted. Ethan Hawke and John Travolta are great in this. (Nice to see Travolta in a good movie)

well made. A very professional production on a technical level. Very efficient, but solid film-making.
The weakness of the movie is that it offers very little that you have not seen before. Kind of just pieced together from many other revenge movies. However, if you are a fan of Westerns, this is one to check out. You pretty much get what you expect, but that is not a bad thing.
Decent, nothing amazing.
