Collateral Beauty is probably the prime example of this
The script feels like what would happen if Tommy Wiseau and someone with a better understanding of the human language/someone who can do a competent job at shooting scenes wrote and directed a major motion picture together. It even includes plot elements that The Room used like the main character being some kind of big businessman whose overly optimistic until tragedy hits him, an obsession with the weirdest thing (dominoes and spinning little girls around instead of football and tuxedos), an old lady with some life threatening illness that's only brought up once (albeit its alzheimers instead of breast cancer), and Will Smith even shouts "You betrayed me" at one point!
But that is a great cast the movie has and they still do good jobs, as dumb as the script is.
