Hear me out, the zipf effect says that things exponentially decay according to how frequent they are in something, like a community or generations, or uses of a word in a book. It also can be said that the reason behind 80% of one thing's frequency is due in part to the top 20%
Team trees is stuck at ~16 mil, which is 80% of the goal, and if millennials are 20% of the population then that means that the rest if the population isn't/hasn't contributed because they can't/don't care
So the millennials have done their part of paying for the trees, now all that needs to happen is that the other generations have to be made more aware of the issue
