I recently watched Taxi Driver because I freaking loved Joker and I heard this was similar and in some ways even better, but I just really did not love this film like everyone else does. Maybe I was just expecting too much or comparing it to Joker too much, but man, I just found it kind of average and dull, especially compared to Joker.
What am I missing? I'm genuinely curious why people think this move is so great. I wouldn't say I hated it; I thought DeNiro was a fine lead, though nothing special. It had a couple interesting and cool moments but to me it just didn't really stand out. I definitely like Joker a million times better than this movie. Like I said, I freaking loved Joker so I really wanted to love this movie too, but I just didn't.
