I'll preface this by saying that I didn't really like Monster's University, but I quite enjoyed the concept of a nerdy, standoffish guy being introduced to a college / uni full of generally more outgoing, and in some cases bullish sort of people. I hear it's like "every college / uni movie ever", but I've never heard of the movies it's similar to.
I'll also add I liked the frat plot line between Sully and Johnny, so a dilemma like that - with a bullish, demeaning character challenging the main lead (or in this case, one of the two main leads.)
