What movie nailed it's concept so well that no one's going to try to touch it again

(...until the inevitable reboot/remake)

I'll throw Jurassic Park down as a prime example. It's going to be hard for anyone to throw down a humans vs dinosaur movie any time soon, with a chance of touching the classic.

First up, those only so many avenues you can use to set up the conceit. It's either time travel to the past, or "we clone them from last DNA" (feel free to think of more!).

All this would be up for grabs, but Jurassic Park got it close to perfect: not only do we have the ticket price of humans and dinosaurs - "two species separated by 65 million years of evolution, suddenly thrown back into the mix together" - but we have a morality tale, filled with character arcs, sprinkled with top of his game early 99s Spielberg, and founded on a great piece of literature by Michael Crichton.

The SFX were used sparingly enough to hold their value over time, and frankly Rexy is such an icon of cinema that it would be tough to do your own spin on a T-Rex without comparisons.

So that's my nomination for a film where the concept was nailed so well, it is going to be tough or almost impossible for a film to escape it's shadow.
