Okay I love this movie and think it's the best heist movie to this day. It also brought two acting giants together in Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. This was probably their best roles of their late stage careers.
I have noticed a few issues for lack of a better word that I wanted others take on.
First was Waingro who played the main villan. In the beginning of the movie he acts like it's the first time in has worked with the crew but later when he visits Van Zant he claims to have "taken major scores together" with De Niros character Neal McCauley. Maybe he just said that to get work from Van Zant?
Second was before the main robbery when Hanna (Al Pacino's character) and his detective squad are driving to the robbery they're using the radios to call in reinforcements from patrol cops. The black driver for the heist crew should've heard them on his 2 way radio? Neal asks him before he hires him if he can handle " scanners and a radio". He should've heard a bunch of radio chatter from the cops about road blocks and calls for backup.
Third was minor, Michael (Tom Sizemore's character) has 2 different guns from when he begins the main heist and when he starts shooting. It went from a short barrel AK to a FN Fal (I believe).
Fourth was just a question. Why did they have to blow that informants door open and arrest him if he was a confidential informant? They didn't just knock? They use a shotgun on his hinges and rush in there and assault him despite him being a source of information??? This was Hugh Benny played by Henry Rollins.
