Where do I start with these films. Was looking for some disaster films to watch cause I was feeling it for whatever reason and stumbled across the Norwegian film "the wave 2015" and I am blown away by how down to earth and realistic it is, the character building and tension is better than most Hollywood films and it gets you to care about the family. There were some silly action scenes that somehow people survived but strange things happen I guess, but other than that the realism of the disaster I feel made the film that muhh more enjoyable and jaw dropping. So I finished watching that and then saw there was a sequal "the quake" so I was like straight away clicked play. And crap did they take the wave and turn it up to eleven, this film makes you feel tiny, it doesn't shy away from the toll off the death count from the first film on the main protagonist and his family, but what really got me was the death of his wife in a good half hour of absolute chaos where it left me feeling speechless and emotionally exhausted.
By far my favourite disaster movies, just ahead of the likes of dantes peak and some others. What are your guys thoughts on these films?
