the distant future may be highly biodiverse because after we go extinct all of our technology and waste will break down and become part of the earths crust which will create really uniqe plant and animal communities as well as highly rare and potentially useful minerals and gemstones

we have moved so many chemicals and minerals around even just in our phones and cars and stuff, not to mention agragate used to construct basically everything, beach sand, mining, plus all of our water drainage infastructure will fail and new urban wetlands will form all over the place. Life takes advantage of whatever it has available and water will eventually leach most chemicals down to form new minerals deep in the ground.
