1 If I want to re-watch the entire MCU before Infinity Wars, in which order should I watch them?
Do I go chronologically? Do I go by release date? Do I watch Hulk? Do I watch The Incredible Hulk? Should I watch Netflix Marvel shows? Agents of SHIELD and shit, too? I mean, I do have like 6 months, but still.
Personally, I'd prefer to skip the shows, but since I'm asking the internet, I guess I have to listen to whatever you decide...

What genre is "Nightcrawler?"
I haven't seen Nightcrawler yet. The only part I've seen was the awesome car chase near the end. People have said that one of the things that made that scene so great, was because it was so unexpected in a movie like that and that it was the only scene like it in there. Aside from that scene, what was the rest of the movie like?

What are some “when X does Y it means that Z” analogies that are very common in movies?
Let me explain that better.
When a character drops the keys on their way to the car or home, it automatically means they’re drunk, if you can’t tell from the acting skills of the actor. So that made me curious, what are some other situations like that that usually happen in the movies but maybe not so much in real life?
Another example I can think of is, when someone is coughing, it definitely means they’re very sick or even dying.

Salo : 120 Days of Sodom did not really shake me. Everyone thinks its the most fucked up movie ever, next to A Serbian Film, but I have to disagree. And while the end of ASF made me flinch a little, not to mention the newborn porn scene, I could also easily watch the movie again. So I've got to ask, any recommendations for someone who did not find these movies that bad? Also, take note that, while upsetting, docs like The Bridge and Dear Zachary have zero effect on me emotionally.

There are movies, and then there is Come and See. (1985)
Set during the Nazi German occupation of the Byelorussian SSR, the film follows a young boy as he witnesses the atrocities committed on the populace.
I've never seen anything like it. It's one of those films that have the ability to truly change your life. It's been about an hour since I've finished it and I haven't moved. The sound is still buzzing in my ears. I'm still seeing the haunting image of Florya staring into the camera, and I feel so helpless.
This is an absolute must watch if you're a lover of cinema, or just human.

[Serious] What is a good movie about not being extraordinary or special?
I'm thinking a movie like Little Miss Sunshine where it really tackles the whole "winner/loser" mentality. I'm just looking for a movie where the protagonist isn't super smart, strong, or really special in any way and has to accept that. I just feel like in every movie I watch these days, the guy and the girl always end up together, the superhero always saves the day, or the protagonist is some sort of genius. Basically, a film where the protagonist realizes “Hey, I’m not that extraordinary in the scheme of things, and I’m comfortable and happy with that.”

A clouded memory of a movie.
Woke up this morning remembering scenes from a movie I saw a long time ago. I saw it so long time ago that I think I was actually to young to be allowed to see this movie.
The scenes I remember.
-
Two men, I assume they are friends and either they are criminals or maybe crooked cops. One of them has black hair and black beard. The other has curly red hair and glasses.
- They are on a boat, where they are throwing dead bodies in the ocean. I am not sure if they killed them themselves, but while they are doing so the red haired guy is poking fun of the situation and shows little to no remorse. When they come to shore the red haired guy suggest they go to a bar but the black haired one is clearly upset about what they were doing and refuses.
- The red haired guy is attacked on the street were he is stabbed, falls to the ground where it looks like he is staring into nothingness. Looks like he is dead.
- The red haired guy is alive but is in a hospital. The dark haired guy comes to visit him. When he enters the room the red haired guy tries to reach for a gun on a table beside the hospital bed. When he sees that it is his friend he doesn't pick it up. (This is the reason I think maybe they were crooked cops. Since he was allowed to have this gun in the room): After the talk the dark haired guy leaves. But the red haired guy is later assassinated by another guest, posing as a police officer.
- The dark haired guy is trying to leave in a hurry with a woman (think they are in a city train station), assume she is his girlfriend. While they are trying to get through the crowd the dark haired man runs into a guy with sunglasses. The guy with the glasses greets him and shoots the dark haired guy in the stomach. The guy with the glasses also shoots some other guy that knows him, (seemed that he betrayed the dark haired guy but after having done so there was no use to him anymore so he is killed to).
- The movie ends with the dark haired guy being carried with paramedics and the woman is with him. He looks at an ad that is on the wall with shadowy picture of a man and a woman in a sunset on a beach. The picture comes alive, and they dance while the credits role.
This is pretty misty and I am not sure if I making some of the stuff up or if I am remembering this to the point. That is actually the main reason I would like to find this movie. I would like to see how much I do infect remember. Because it seems that I saw this movie at a very young age because all of the violent scenes looked horrific to me and might actually be my first exposure to this kind violence in media.
I would guess that the movie would be from the 80s or the early 90s.
-Thanks.

However when on release date the cinema we normally go to only had evening showings after 9pm and the cinema I work at only having showings after 7pm this put her off. For me if I really wanted to see a film in a cinema I would put up with he later showing, however for her the cinema experience isn’t a nessecity and she said she was content in waiting for it to release on Netflix.
Some films I’ve wanted to see just haven’t released here at all such as the Dinner, Killing of a sacred deer and The time of our lives. Can I justify getting a two hour train journey just to see a film? Why must all cinemas neglect these smaller films? And instead put in 5 showings of all very empty justice leagues?

Net Neutrality and Star Wars
Both of them will impact on December 14th. I think we should continue flooding Reddit with Net Neutrality posts. We kinda have to fight both things right now: If the new Star wars movie succeeds, I can guarantee EA will get the go ahead from Disney to put microtransactions or something similar back into the game.
Sorry, I'm all over the place and wondering why people are not worried about these two events which will quite literally reverse all the progress in gaming industry and the internet itself. We really should be worried, it's reminding me of how people have always dealt with climate change etc, we always ignore problems until it has created a tangible impact on us and then ensues public outrage.
Why can't we take a pre emptive measure just this once? Don't support Disney and EA, go join the protests Dec 7.
Do.Something.
For the future..

Any Action scenes from NON Action movies?
I'm specifically talking about movies that are like 90-95% Drama, Crime or Thriller, but have just one or maybe two scenes of action. Here are some examples of what I'm talking about:
Se7en- An very dark Crime Thriller about two detectives trying to catch a serial killer. Has an intense foot chase scene between Det. Mills and the killer.
Nightcrawler- A Crime Drama about a crime scene photographer. Has an awesome car chase near the end.
Dead Presidents- A Crime Drama about a group of guys falling on hard times after returning home from the Vietnam war. Has an intense heist and shootout sequence in the third act.
Flight- A Drama movie about an Alcoholic and drug addicted Airline pilot. Has an great plane crash sequence at the beginning.

A question about the end of In Bruges
So I had never seen the film before, and did so in anticipation of Three Billboards, and I quite enjoyed it. However - and I'm not one to normally complain about plot holes - but for such a lauded screenplay, and one I've even seen listed on as a film without any plot holes here on Reddit, I felt like I must have missed something, because...
spoilers for the end
... how does Colin Farrel's hit man character know that his employer, Ralph Fiennes, had sworn he'd shoot himself on the spot if he shot a kid? He wasn't there in the scene when it was discussed, and yet he's clearly trying to tell him 'no, he's not...' implying '...not a child, a dwarf' when Ralph Fiennes is about to shoot himself.
Here's the closing scene, and here's the only time this principle comes up in the film, seemingly as though it was new information.
So.... did I miss something, or am I misreading that closing line's implication?

Goodness in people are alot like abs, everyone has them, but a minority have it showing.
Something I was thinking about in the shower (duh). I've known a lot of bad people that have great qualities about them, but it's overshadowed by the negative qualities. I'm sure almost every person has good qualities (abs), but some people have varying layers of negative qualities (fat), and if a lot of them worked on fixing the negative qualities the "abs" will show.

[Discussion] The Star Wars Prequels are some of the best movies ever filmed.
Yes you read that right the prequels were good, except episode 1 that episode was unnecessary. It can be summed up in one sentence Ani was a slave that was rescued by Qui Qon Jinn. Boom done roll credits.
What I don't get is why are people hating on the special effects? There is not too many of them all movies at that time had the same amount of SFX. And don't give me that whole "the originals didn't have that many" shit. They had less because the best they had was an Apple II that took a month to render even the simplest effect.
And Jar Jar, he was quite possibly the most influential being, if it weren't for him giving Ol Dried Raisin the last few executive powers the Jedi would've discovered his plot and all would be for naught. And his clumsiness was a bit of expectation subversion by our good friend and cenamatic genius George.
All in all the Prequels were the explanation of how Darth Father came into existence. Episode one: how he was found, Episode two how he became a father, Episode three: How he turned and became Vader.
If you don't like them then don't annoy everyone with your one sided opinion. News flash the everyday viewer doesn't care about which trilogy is better they just want to enjoy the story of Aniken Skywalker.

Article on 10,000 steps (2004): http://ift.tt/1Ivsfir
Math: 10,000 steps almost equals 5 miles or 8 kilometers. Earth's circumference equals 24,901 miles or 40,075 kilometers so 24,901mi/5mi per day or 40,075km/8km per day = 4980 days or 5009 days which averages out to 13.68 years plus 2004AD = 2017.68AD

If interest rates are negative shouldn't banks pay people to lend?
Ok so we know some places (Switzerland amongst others) have negative interest rates. However if you borrow €10 @ 10% from me then you pay me €1 euro interest. If it is 0% then you pay nothing in interest. If it is -10% shouldn't I have to pay you €1 for every €10 you borrow?

Jim Carrey would be a really good replacement for “Jim Lahey” on Trailer Park Boys.
Seriously, after watching his newest documentary on Netflix, “Jim and Andy”, He’s probably come down as one of my favorite actors. I feel like he would portray an incredibly funny trailer park supervisor just as good as John Dunsworth (RIP), that’s a long shot but I feel like Jim Carrey would put on a great show.

What is the dumbest comment on a movie you overheard in the cinema?
I went to see Murder on the Orient Express yesterday and there was an obnoxiously talkative couple behind me. When Willem Dafoe appeared on screen for the first time, the guy exclaimed 'Hey, it's Ed Harris!' They also had a couple of comments about the film's plot that showed they had no grasp on what was going on in the movie.
What are some stupid things you heard people in the theater say about a movie?

Have there been any movies with similar story lines to What Women Want and Forever Young?
I’ve recently watched both Forever Young (1992] and What Women Want (2000).
I found both the stories very well done and, with Forever Young particularly, very moving.
In a world where so many movies are necessarily remade, have either of these two had the treatment?
I feel like they would both work very well in this day and age, again more so Forever Young, as I think with What Women Want anyone could rewrite with ‘insert your agenda here’. But still, I think both would make for excellent movies if given a modern touch.
I’m on a Mel Gibson trio, about to start Braveheart. Needless to say, from memory (it’s been a twenty years since I saw it), I don’t think there would be any benefit to a remake of that.
On a side note, I wonder why Mel Gibson seemed to drop off the radar after 2000ish. I’m assuming it was to focus on directing, like with the Jesus movie. He’s been outstanding in the both the movies so far.
