This movie just felt so Oscar-baity and pretentious with its dialogue, and every single character was wholly unlikable in the film. Other than the nice cinematography and decent performances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, and Michael Shannon, this was a hard one to sit all the way through to the end. And man was that ending depressing and cynical. I'm not sure if the book from which it was adapted is this way as well, but damn, it felt so misguided in what it was trying to say. Easily one of Sam Mendes's worst directorial efforts (next to Spectre) and one I can't recommend anyone bother to watch on Netflix like I just did.
Curious what others have thought of the film. How did you feel about "Revolutionary Road"?
