So, I just watched Annihilation on Netflix, and something that stood out a lot to me, was the feeling of something truly alien, something that felt eerie, mysterious and weird, and because of that I really enjoyed the movie. I'm a super sci-fi fan, and even tho some movies did send this kind of alien, mysterious feel to me, like The Thing (1982), and 2001: a space odissey, most sci-fi movies feel too close to our world, not mysterious or otherwordly. What are some movies you think that captures the feeling of portraying something that doesn't belong to this world ? Something that actually feels alien? And as a bonus, what were your thoughts on Annihilation if you watched it ?
