Those were the days, going to the IMDb message boards after watching a movie and seeing what other people were saying about it. When a new movie came out in theaters hundreds of message threads would come in that it was hard to keep up. And then as the months went by the traffic slowed down.
The message boards were fun, sure sometimes things could get a little intense. There were trolls everywhere. There were people who overanalyzed a movie. I remember there were people who would write on their message title ''This is the worse movie ever! and they would write like 50 paragrapth posts about why they think it was the worse movie ever, they would described every miniscule detail of a movie and what made it the worse.
It was inevitable that the message boards were going to go away. I know many people say they should've gotten moderators to keep the message boards clean, but I mean how is a moderator supposed to keep up with the hundreds of messages that would come when a new movie came out? Also there were message boards in all of the millions upon million of IMDb pages for every single movie ever. How are you going to get moderators for all of them?
I was very sad that the message boards shut down in 2017, but now time has healed the wounds and now I just cherish my memories.
