I'm predicting that eventually studios will start "remastering" the classic CG films by doing this type of thing. Imagine keeping everything the same; animation, voices, models, etc. but re-rendering the entire film with the latest technology.
Essentially Toy story would take place in a physically accurate rendered world and all the cool visuals and tech that accompany that. Would you go see it?
