Anything outside of your Field of View could be thought of as absolutely dark, or pitch black.
Since we perceive darkness anytime that we sense no light or a very limited amount of light, anything outside of our field of vision could be considered as true darkness because no light from that area stimulates our retina. So it’s kind of analogous to when you play with a flashlight and then a cone of area lights up, just the cone of light is our vision.

Technically everything is okay (i.e. rape, stealing, murder, etc) because society dictates everything so nothing really matters and there is not right or wrong its just based on what you think is right.
Example: If vikings thought rape and conquest was okay 500 years ago, 500 years in the future although highly unlikely humans might call us wimps because we wanted peace the way we call vikings barbaric because they liked conquest, and because rape and conquest are the thing of the future and will say that we were not as advanced therefore their views are correct.

Which Would You Pick? And Why?
If you were a tv actor who wanted to become a film actor, would you want most of your movie works on your filmography to be box office Bombs yet critically acclaimed or box office successes yet critical disdain? Let’s say you got two Emmys and you branch out to do movies. Would be in an indie directed by a debut director that makes chump change yet is considered one of the best of that year? Or a movie guaranteed cash your way despite a mixed to negative reception and a few Razzie nominations?

Dead Heat is great
Caught this on Amazon Prime and it was really fun. It's like a police procedural mixed with Evil Dead. It doesn't take itself very seriously so I can forgive some of the things that don't make sense. It's just trying to be campy fun. There is a sequence that takes place inside a Chinese restaurant and it features some truly gnarly effects. There is also a car crash towards end is genuinely one of the most visceral I've seen in while. Also Treat Williams is great in everything he is in. I really wish he ended up getting more lead roles in action films like this because this and Deep Rising really made the case for him.

Rebecca (2020)
Has anyone else watched this on Netflix? I've never seen the Alfred Hitchcock original, so I don't have a comparison. The film was "decent." It could have been better. It felt a little drawn out. The big highlight of the film was the performance of Kristin Scott Thomas. It was so good to see her again, and she left me wishing she would work more in pictures. The costumes were quite nice too. It just lacked something - grit, maybe.

Ideas for a perfect world?
Hi everyone! Im a normal guy that think sometimes about this topic. What if we all unite. I'll try to be simple: post a comment with your idea based in your life and enviroment, what you see daily as a person of the world. I post some ideas as a example:
-
First of all, human race, no frontiers, you are citizen of the world. Countrys are only the name for our culture :)
-
Natality control over the world, respect the Earth, we need to have controlled our planet.
-
Like in 1. Respect for religions. You can practice and think whatever you want, if not make hurt to anyone.
-
Taking advantage of the internet, voting pages will be created in which each citizen (duly identified) can vote, to achieve a true democracy. The pages will be classified by levels: world, continents, countries, communities, provinces, towns..
-
End capitalism, or at least update it.
It is obvious that these ideas do not solve anything, but they start to raise new more concrete ideas. Cheer up and comment ✌️ ♥ ️

Is committing suicide because of politics a good idea?
I'm a 20/yo republican, there is no future for me really. Its over. The way the World is going, the craziness, all the liberal laws that have been passed and stuff like that. Now, with the fraud of the past few weeks and the silencing of those who are not republicans, well, I feel like it's over. I think suicide is a good option because the world (and america) is just gonna change into something i was raised against. Things have just changed a lot and will continue to change and thus my drive to do anything in life has been snuffed out of me.
Is it stupid to kill myself because of politics?
Oh, I will say that most of the reason I feel this way is because dems are anti-christianity, anti-white and anti-america which is just me so they are fundamentally my enemy, and a black woman is VP and black women hate white men so it's this is why i feel like i am a republican.

Question for TikTok experts!
Hello everyone. I am fairly new to TikTok (1 month).
I posted a lot of videos where my comments, shares and likes are great (or so I think).
You can see here a video which I think did well, but it died in views quickly. Only one of my videos went above 60k all the other under 2.
I just want to understand if there is something I’m missing (I notice that my video quality drops when I upload and my videos are mostly outdoor trick shots) or maybe something is up with my account? Maybe I set it up wrong? I’m in Italy and initially I did not use a VPN for my first videos, but later switched since my content is in English. But then I don’t get why I got 60k on one video 🤔
I’m not expecting millions of views, but I feel that my metrics are pretty good. I just had having no clue as to what I am doing wrong or if this is unrelated to my content and related to other factors.
I shared one video here but most of my videos have a good like ratio, a lot of comments and a good amount of shares so I’m confused.
I am curious to hear if others are going through the same or if anyone has had the same issues and has resolved them somehow😂
Thanks in advance!

Would being in a plane that breaks apart due to extreme turbulence be terrifying, fun, or both?
There was a jet airliner that flew way too close behind a jumbo jet. The jumbo jet produced 200 MPH horizontal tornadoes (wake vortices) at its wingtips, which spread out. They hit the other plane at 60-80% of their original strength. This type of turbulence can cause vertical accelerations (up and down bumps) of up to 10 G.
The rotating vortices caused the plane to suddenly jolt sideways, left and right. The (sideways) G loads slowly increased, from 0.3 G sideways to 0.9 G right before the tail fin of the plane broke off causing it to go into a high G flat spin that tore off the engines. The time between the turbulence striking and the tail ripping off was about 8 seconds. Vertical loads on the plane before breakup were +2.1 G. The plane was climbing at 2,000 feet when the tail fin snapped off. All 250+ on board died.
What would this of felt like? Would everyone have been terrified, would some have found it fun? Would it of felt like a rollercoaster ride?

Help with analysis of scene from La Isla Minima (Marshland)
For a college module I have to analyse a scene but I'm not entirely sure what to say for it. The questions I've been given for the analysis of the scene are; How important do you think the landscape and fauna are? Do you think that this scene can be conceived of as realist? Why do you think that the director filmed the scene this way? How do the cinematography and music contribute to this atmosphere?
For background info on the scene, the man in the scene is a policeman and is spying on a suspect for the case he is investigating, but someone sneaks up on him and knocks him out. Then when he wakes up, this is the scene.

The fact that there was no buzz about this film when it was released is insane. Borderline a crime. Digital art programs for a digital art tablet?
YOLO! So, long story short (or as short as it can be), I received my first art tablet in the mail just recently. I've done some research about it and I've found some digital art programs I thought would work. Only problem... My computer doesn't have internet access, and my phone does. So I have to download the desktop version of the app through my phone and file transfer it onto the computer. After doing some research, I found out that the programs I've been looking at (and the one I'd downloaded), will not work (period) without internet access. Does anybody know of one? (My computer is a Windows 10 with an HP tower and 8GB of DDR4-2400SDRAM. 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i3-8100 processor). Thank you in advance!

Mission Impossible (1996) is the first gritty reboot, change my mind.
Taking a goofy 60s TV show and turning it into a movie where most of the main cast dies in the first 40 minutes is the definition of gritty. Then add in some of the realism (such as it is) they tried to to put in, such as Hunt's having trouble with the wind on top of the train, and you have Batman Begins before Chris Nolan.

Why “Mulholland Drive” is my favorite mystery film of all time.
This is largely a matter of personal taste, but I wanted to see if anyone shares the same feelings. (No spoilers ahead.)
Lynch’s Mulholland Drive, for me, hits a “mystery sweet spot” like no other film. It emanates a sense of neo-noir mystery in its purest and most beautiful form.
During the most of the film, you don’t even know what the real mystery is about. Of course, you have the central plot (searching for Rita’s identity etc.), but you sense that there’s something odd about the whole thing, something deeper. It’s not just another adventure/crime story. Strange details keep appearing, bizarre scenes are intertwined with normal ones. Something’s off, but you just can’t put your finger on it.
With most other mystery movies, you know the “object” of the mystery from the start. For example, in detective movies, you know that there is a murderer, the mystery is just about finding him. The standard context is familiar, while the specifics of the story are yet to be revealed. But with Mulholland Drive, there is a larger mystery surrounding the central plot – you can feel it, but you have no clue what it is about.
The ending will probably make you search for the explanation on YT or Reddit. Then, you will be mesmerized into going through film analyses, and you’ll retroactively appreciate the true beauty of the film. This film doesn’t end with the last scene, it continues playing in your head, while you are figuring out how all bizarre details now make perfect sense.
Mulholland drive keeps a fine balance between all the elements needed for a perfect mystery. The overall atmosphere is not too light, but not too dark either (most of the scenes have a daylight brightness, there are some comedic moments etc.). When a mystery film has overly dark or creepy atmosphere (Lost Highway, The Machinist), or slips into horror, the raw terror is overshadowing the delicate sense of pure mystery.
Mystery movies often blend with other genres. However, when a plot has fantasy or sci-fi elements (e.g. Inception), it relativizes the mysteriousness, because then you have a presupposed world where you already know virtually anything is possible (due to ancient magic, alien technology, time travel etc.). The same goes for movies like The Holy Mountain – the plot is too surreal, too detached from the ordinary world.
The plot twist in the Mulholland drive is not stated too explicitly, and there are different interpretations about it, which leaves the permanent aftertaste of mysteriousness. When the mystery is 100% solved, it satisfies the audience, but ends the gentle life of an enigma.
To conclude, if you didn’t watch this film, I envy you, because you have the opportunity of watching it for the first time. Truly beautiful mind-fuck neo-noir thriller mystery, a masterpiece.

Groomsman advice
So my brother is getting married sometime in the middle of next year. I just learned from my mom that he will most likely ask me to be a groomsman. For me personally I just want to go to the wedding and not be involved in it. It’s nothing against him or the girl he is marrying it’s more about the fact that I don’t like anyone that she is friends with. I can definitely tell they make her a worse person when they are around. I also feel like my brother just doesn’t know me because anyone that knows anything about me knows I hate big events. I don’t have anxiety or anything like that but anytime I’m involved in anything that involves a big group of people and especially a group of people that I don’t particularly like I just get this feeling like I’m going to pass out and I start overthinking everything and just panic. Is there a way I could decline the offer?

How do I deal with people shaming my religion?
Hi guys. Just note that I'm putting this on an alt account because I'm too afraid of putting it on my main. Also just a warning, this is a long post.
So on Reddit, there have been multiple times on r/iamatotalpieceofshit in posts and in comments of people saying how Islam is the worst religion, A very violent religion, etc..
I really get offended by these comments and posts because not only is there violence in literally every other religion's books, but Islam has quite a lot of peace in it as well.
There is one verse in the Quran that goes:
"لكم دينكم ولي دين" (Translates to "You have you're religion, and I have mine")
This was when the (I forgot the name of the group, We'll just call them the K) K had tried to convince the prophet to do one year of their religion, and they'll do one year of his, and they'll keep going back and forth.
However, the prophet declined politely without getting angry, or any violence being involved.
This is like how you and another person have 2 completely different opinions, but you don't shame them for their opinion and instead politely disagree.
Also, there was this other story about how 3 tired christian travelers came across Medina. I don't remember the story exactly but this is the main gist of it. The 3 travelers were very tired when they arrived, so the prophet had offered them food, shelter, and some supplies. He wasn't even asked for anything, He offered it. He even secluded part of the mosque for the travelers so that they would have a safe place to do their prayers.
There was no segregation in the interactions they had. The prophet just treated them kindly regardless of what their religion was.
Sorry for the long backstories, I just needed you guys to understand my point of view.
So This Post's title states that a man was using an AR to scare his kid into memorizing the Quran. Even though the man's actions were terrible, The book in the video wasn't even the Quran and none of his words mentioned anything about the Quran. And then it sparked many Islamophobic comments. The ones that offended me the most were:
- This One stating that anyone who supports Islam supports the man's actions
- This one stating that Allah will be mad at you if you don't memorize the entire Quran
- And this one stating that our entire religion blows things up for Allah
I will only explain why the last one is so offensive to me. If you wish for me to explain any of the other two please feel free to ask.
The last one is so offensive to me is because the terrorists who blow things up are extremists who take bits of the quran out of context and use it to kill others. And that is only less than 1% of all muslims. So saying that all of us do it really hurt me.
So I want to know how To deal with these types of people? Obviously I can't ignore all of them forever, so how do I deal with situations like these?

I was going to pick it up to throw it in the trash, but as I picked it up I seen it had the date “December 15th, 1969”. Instead of throwing it away I took it home with me and was gonna read it when I got home. Well it’s in a very neat cursive writing, but I can’t really read some sentences. How much pressure does it take to kill a nerve?
A nurse was putting pressure on my toe with her finger for around 5-10 seconds while dressing it and it was painful. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to make things awkward. It's an open wound, so it's sensitive and I'm pretty sure the nerves are fragile because of this. I put some pressure on my toe when I got back from the clinic and I didn't feel much pain so she must've applied a decent amount. She had some attitude so I don't know if she did it on purpose or what-not.
I'm overthinking a little about this now so I'm asking on here to more educated people if you think that's enough to kill any nerves on the wound of my toe.
Thanks

What are some modern horror movie cliches that you dislike?
I've noticed that it's a very popular idea right now in the modern "elevated" horror scene, to deliberately not explain anything about the ghost/demon/monster/killer or show any of the deaths or attacks onscreen. Alot of people are convinced that it's somehow "scarier" if you don't see anything. I disagree with this. Yes, constant exposition dumps would be annoying, but I still want to actually know what I'm watching. Most horror movie villains nowadays are generic doomsday villains with no personality that are forgettable and boring. I also don't find it scarier to not show anything. In fact, I find it pretty lame when the movie shys away from stuff. And no, that dosen't make me a surface level viewer looking for mindless gore. I still care about atmosphere and story. But you need to show something. I don't want to "use my imagination" for what happens next. That's not my job. You're the ones telling the story, you imagine it for us. Also, I get the feeling that "ambiguity" is just an excuse for not being able to come up with something scary, or to make generic uninteresting characters, or to only write half a story. In summary, I think "ambiguity" is overused in modern horror, especially this "elevated" horror scene.

That one kids movie
I recently remembered a movie that i had watched when I was a kid, however I do not remember the title and I have tried searching on the internet with the memories I have of it but I have found nothing, but I do remember the plot.
It resolves around a kid who I think is an orphan (but I’m pretty sure he lives with a personal trainer or something like that) and he is the prime target for bullies. He has a crush on this girl but he believes that he is not good enough for her, one day, I don’t remember how but he gets super strong. He ends up becoming famous and he goes on various talk shows. The person he lives with is just using him as a marketing tactic. One day he returns to his home town and he sees his crush, he now has the confidence to tell her but he is shot down since the girl believes that he has changed as a person. I don’t really remember the end but since it is a kids movie he probably changed back to his normal self.
There is one scene I vividly remember, he is waking to school when he sees a dumpster, he decides to look through it and he finds a book bag, he then keeps it as his own.
It’s been bugging me that I can’t remember the title so I was wondering if you guys could help me try and find it. It was an animated (or cgi) movie and it was once on Netflix, other than that and the plot I don’t remember much

trying to run down an old movie. It had a midget in it, in some kind of black suit, the movie went on broadcast TV in the late 90s, midget died from something, someone found "a way out", the window showed only outer space outside.
I really thought it was cube, but it wasn't. Its basically people all trapped in a room together, they start fighting among each other, and the midget eats a poisoned dart at some point, I believe. Someone finds an opening and crawls through it, gets to a window, and they only see dark space outside, as in, being in actual space.

If an Assassin's Creed was rated R, would it have had a better turnout?
I just recently watched this and had mixed feelings. It was meh. Better than most video game movie adaptations I've watched, but still not what I wanted to be. I was thinking if it was rated R, it might've made more noise at the box office back in 2016. The flip side of that coin is that they wouldn't have been able to pull in the underage demographic and all that sweet merchandise money. However, Deadpool did that in the same timeframe. (Marvel is obviously already well known...) So who knows? I don't. What does Reddit think??

Question
I would like to know the name of this movie.
Film about a prostitute who starts in high school, in one scene she shows her breasts to her school football team. Time passes, he grows up and becomes independent, then he meets a high school girl who is going to live with her, in one scene this girl takes the car and goes out to party, when she returns home, the first girl is waiting for her, annoying and begins to claim. It's all I remember, I hope you can help me with the name; it would be interesting to see the end of the movie.
Thanx, community.

What is Neil Breen’s magnum opus?
Neil Breen is perhaps the most important filmmaker of our age. His movies are the stuff of legend. Citizen Kane? Seven Samurai? The Godfather? All are pig fodder compared to the genius that is BREEN. But what is the best movie made by the Breen Machine? Which of these movies makes you feel like you ascended the slopes of Mount Olympus and drank the sweetest nectar of infinite bliss from the fountain of all that is holy? Which is the Breeniest movie this side of Breen?

Is there an in-depth summary of "The Loyal 47 Ronin (1958)" movie? Question
I am currently trying to watch it for a class assignment, and I am lost. If anyone can help or has a complete summary please let me know. So far I understand that Asano was under a lot of pressure and was ridiculed by the Daimyo Kira, and ends up drawing his blade against him which results in him being forced to commit seppuku. If there's a way anyone out there can summarize this movie completely, that would help me out a lot. Thank you.

How do I leave a special ed class
I’m in 6th grade. I don’t like being in the special ed class. I’m alienated from other kids and treated differently from everyone. I wish I was a normal kid in a normal class and never got a adhd or asd diagnosis. I’m a normal kid. Just let me go to a regular class. I want to fit in and be a regular guy. I have no idea how someone could take that for granted. Please I’ve been stuck in these types of classes since grade 2. Help
