Predator 2 is better than Predator and it has way more of a re-watchability factor
I think a lot of it has to do with the scenery and background. Predator 2 takes place in a city as opposed to a jungle and it just has way more interesting things going on then just staring at jungle all day long like the first movie. It also has a variety of other things going on as far as side villains and whatnot not just the predator. Gary Busey the Jamaican kingpin guy etc. Although I love the first movie I find I just can't sit and enjoy re-watching it as much as I do Predator 2. Plus we learn way more about the predator in the second one as far as the spaceship scene and all that. I do enjoy the cast of the first movie a bit better I mean how could you not? Other than that though, the second movie is far superior.

On Instagram I saw an animation and the credit went to someone called “JokeToons”. I found their channel but they haven’t posted a video in years so I went to their about page and found out about their app, website, and facebook page. Their app dose not exist anymore including their website. The Facebook page is also a dead end to. I’m genuinely curious so if someone knows what happened please respond!

Hobbs & Shaw writer promises that justice for Han Seoul-Oh is coming [Fast and Furious]
The decision to make Shaw a member of the Fast family has led many fans to call for “justice for Han,” and Morgan, the writer behind every Fast movie since Tokyo Drift, wants them to know it’s coming.
I love ‘justice for Han,’” Morgan tells EW, adding that Han is very important to him. “Sung Kang is a great friend, and Han is a character that I adore. I would say that the super-arc for Deckard Shaw is going to be one of the most interesting, cool, rewarding character arcs in the franchise. Justice for Han is owed. It’s something we have discussed for a very long time and want to give the right due to. I think the audience will be satisfied and should know it’s coming.

What is your favorite movie of all time ?
Currently my favorite movies is Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather. Even though I wouldn't consider it the best film of all time because you can't really critique art objectively and everyone has their own opinion. Also among other things I think the way Coppola shows the relationships is imperfect and flawed as there isn't really too much depth in them. I would love to hear your own favorite movies and if possible why they are your favorite movies. I hope I haven't made too many grammatical errors because English isn't my native language. First post here hope I am doing everything right.

What Are Movies You Love Or Like Even If You Do Not Agree With Its Politics Or Beliefs?
Amadeus is one example. It does talk about the idea that God gives a better advantage to others and controls our lives because I don't believe in God in the first place but I still consider it to be one of my favorite movies of all time due to its excellent acting, story, characters, etc.
Also, I do not agree on the idea of destiny in "The Lion King". I think Simba should be allowed to make his own choices and not let his heritage define on what he haves to do and who he should be. But I still really like it for its nice musicals, story, performances and animation.

Many films have been loosely written around the structure of the original Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, but there's no real list of these films out there. I'm working on a script that adopts that structure, but I want to see how some other films have treated it. Other than Apocalypse Now! what other films were inspired by or use elements from Heart of Darkness?

Kaiju Mono; crazy Japanese comedy
When the young daughter of a crazed scientist brings a mysterious object back to the lab, a giant monster appears to wreck the city... Our only hope is apparently the scientist's assistant who the scientist injects with mystery magic go-go juice number five, causing the boy to grow in to a giant muscular Japanese wrestler... oh yeah
Where to begin? I watched Executive Koala and The World Sinks Except Japan, both from the same filmmaker, and I was less than impressed; so going into it I was hesitant but I give every film it's fair shot... the result? I freaking loved it! The comedy is very slapstick/Mel Brooks with a proper mix of high brow and toilet humor; a difficult combination to say the least... but they pull it off and they don't let up from minute one to minute done... Every single character is so unique and bizarre; even the sheepish daughter of the scientist, who cross dresses as Sailor Moon, is the star of her own story... The monster design isn't the best I have ever seen but I believe they were doing it on purpose as the film repeatedly calls out certain faults and tropes... it works, it works far better than I could ever imagine, and I can imagine quite a bit... The giant fighting is very Saturday Night Wrestling but that would not surprise anyone who recognizes our big man as a Japanese wrestler...
I was beyond pleased with what I saw and would highly recommend that you buy this...

Recommendation
Hey guys . Ive got some free time now and would like to watch some good old movies like Forest Gump and Django unchained and shutter island and fight club and any good movie and I even horror movies that don't rely on stupid jump scares (not a huge fan of horror ). And I really like movies with a good ending and keeping me engaged throughout the movie And I even like sci fi movies like coherence and interstellar and martian and inception (sorta sci fi)
So basically a good movie with a good ending and a good meaning and it doesn't matter if it's old.!!
And would really appreciate the guys and also I don't really like horror that much or sad movies And sorry for really dragging it!!!!

Gen-Z people don’t usually make “plans” like older generations used to because of phones
I’m 17, older people often ask in conversation “what are your plans for the weekend?”. Usually I don’t have plans in advance until the day of. There more like “wanna go to the movies in a few hours” “I’m having people over tonight” etc. the only time I make plans in advance is for holidays like the 4th of July, st pattys day, or for an event like a concert. I feel like older generations used to have plans a week in advanced like “I’m going to the movies with X on Sunday”

I like Tom Hardy, he usually shows off good acting skills and portrays the character well. But what I was woefully unprepared for was Legend. Tom Hardy brilliantly played the Kray twins and the overall storytelling was amazing. I highly recommend the film to anyone who hasn’t seen it, it’s worth a watch.

world-building; most transportive escapist films
Looking for some really transporting movies that just suck you up into their world. really really intensely immersive movies. Something I can watch while high and just get really sucked up into; really lived in, built up worlds. The go to is obviously sci-fi fantasy stuff, Space Odyssey, Avatar, LOTR and while of course those offer some phenomenal world-building and immersion, (and i’d definitely like some of your guys’ best sci-fi picks) i don’t want this to be a thread of solely sci-fi recommendations. Some (comparatively) smaller scale, not so ‘world driven’ stuff also do a great job of achieving this experience i’m describing; Being John Malkovich, The Big Lebowski, Spotless Mind, Fantastic Fox. Stuff that doesn’t necessarily focus on exploring the world of the movie so much as say a film like Avatar or LOTR would, but nonetheless have a really well established world that can be subtly admired in the background to help make the movie feel more immersive. but again, also gimme your sci-fi picks. sorry if this is long, hopefully i get at least a few good stuff to add to my list.

Examples: 2005 “Two Thousand Five” 1999 “Nineteen ninety-nine” 2019 “Twenty Nineteen”
Some people read years 2010 and up as one number but not many people (dare I say, any) refer to years below 2000 as one number”

Wheres this road?
My aunt and I took a trip to Arkansas and we went from San Antonio Texas to hit springs AR. We basically just went east until we had to turn left on what I think was an interstate. We missed the first one and we saw that there was one last road we could take. We took it, and it was really rural. There was two things I can't find anywhere online. An upside down normal looking barn in the middle of nowhere and a giant head of a guy wearing a cowboy hat in front of a factory. Anyone know where these things are or what road we were on?

I’m 19, and recently got to Reddit. In just a short while I found a lot of stuff about Boomers being a pain in the neck about how millennials are lazy and entitled, etc. I’ve also seen responses saying that Boomers are the reason everything right now sucks.
Still, I don’t have much context to understand these debates. Can someone please explain me what both sides argue so much about?

Why does the cinema look worse than my tv at home?
Have home theatres literally overtaken the cinema tech to become the superior way to watch films? Or are all my local cinemas shit?
On my calibrated tv at home, whether it’s 4K or 1080p blu Ray, most movies look stunning (within the confines of the source), and I’ve noticed lately not feeling the same about going to the movies.
Even movies intended to be visually appealing - I saw toy story 4 on an extreme screen (which is the highest priced ticket you can get in my country) and couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed.
The animation was beautiful and you could tell it was an improvement over the previous 3 in that regard, particularly scenes in the rain, but in terms of resolution, detail, clarity and colours etc etc, I couldn’t help but feel Toy Story 3 looked better on blu ray at home. Yet I know when it releases physically I can watch 4 again without any of those issues.
Instead of the fuzzy, dim feel of the cinema screen - a ten year old movie, on my 2 year old tv almost literally sparkles with detail, and I find myself often focusing on the peripherals just to marvel at how good it looks. I just can’t do that at the theatre because everything just looks off in comparison.
How is it possible that the actual ‘movie theatres’ are not keeping up with the quality of home tvs?
I hear directors and filmmakers talk about the magic of the cinema all the time, and it makes me wonder if they would feel differently if they grew up with access to higher resolutions etc in the home. Or, again, are my local theatres just shit?

Movie Search. I need of help.
I’m trying to find the name of a movie based on a short description. I could use some help.
I was able to watch 1 scene before my wife was so disturbed that I was forced to change to a different movie.
Genre = horror/sci-fi
The scene includes a younger girl being brought back to an apartment with 2 men. She doesn’t speak much at all. 1 of the guys goes to the bathroom meanwhile the other attempts to hook up with the girl. She transforms into a vampire/monster/succubi/monster and feeds on the guy. 2nd dude comes out, she gets weird on him, scares the crap out of him and flees out the window.
Any guesses?

Looking for fluffy gay movie recs
I've seen a fair few but I'm always on the lookout for another good one (Big Eden, Shelter, Latter Days, Imagine Me & You).
Tried moving International but the problem with the genre seems to be the same no matter where the movie is made: a lot of them are fucking depressing. Gimme my fluff.
FLUFF (sorry, didn't think this had to be explained):
A warm, sweet feel-good movie that doesn't fucking end in death, cheating, people killing themselves or other overall badness. Please.

What's it called?
So when I was little I watched this movie that I can't remember how it's called, also googling it doesn't help.
There is a baby put in a basket and set down a river in ancient Egypt. Somehow the baby travels through time and is found in modern days. He becomes a teenager and goes to Egypt for some reason I can't remember and there is a giant snake that starts coming after him and at some point he finds out his biological parents were pharaohs.
That's all I remember, is there such a movie or did my brain combine some plots with some myths and came up with this?
Edit: typos
Edit 2:from your recommendations so far it also seems to not be a movie with Moses

The Lego Batman Movie (2017) is a total blast.
That's really how you do a self aware superhero movie.
Full of funny references on its roots and different stages its character went through in comics or major movie franchises, but still dissecting the protagonists true essence and not giving up themes in order to appear more self aware.
The latter one is missing in Deadpool movies as they basically are 2 hour long movies that constantly remind you how stupid they are.
This one, while being creative and innovative in its scope and action, does get its characters right (with big thanks to the voice acting) and does have themes and logical arcs throughout.
The first hour is literally exhilarating and even if it seems contemporary busy in the second half, I genuinely think this is a blast.

Schindler's List is a movie I can't get drunk to.
I've only seen this movie once. I decided to sit down and watch it again. It's been years later but I'm so blown away. I've watch is intently and drink rum and cokes. Every frame is sobering. This movie hits so hard that the over 3 hour run time doesn't seem long enough. The end scene would break any mans heart. Humanity needs to see this movie and know that history is harsh but it should be remembered.

2019: The Year of the Carnival Set Piece
What’s with all the carnivals in movies/tv this year? Is it the same carnival between any of them? Think about how much production $ could have been saved if producers has just TALKED to each other.
From my count, a Carnival set has been featured in;
Movies -Us -Toy Story 4 -Shazam -Dumbo -Spider-Man: Far From Home -It 2 (upcoming)
TV -Euphoria -Stranger Things Season 3
/which carnival was the best carnival?

Why did Tom Hooper's 2012 Les Miserables film receive poor critic reception?
Personally, I love the film. I believe it took the tremendously beautiful story of the play and portrayed it through the unique lens of film. I consider the changes made were great - from the choice to utilize performances which accentuated emotional detail and intimate rawness (as apposed to the boisterous stage presence of Broadway), to slight story changes (I Dreamed a Dream being placed AFTER Fantine prostitutes herself), to an overall alteration of the tone of the story, giving it more realistic grit and authenticity. The film is one of my all time favorites.
However, when I look at reviews online, it seems the film was relatively poorly reviewed. For this I do not understand why. Any thoughts?

Which movie that started with the protagonist as a hero but who ended up as a villain by the end of it.
Malaysian here.
It's lazy Sunday afternoon and just watched on TV, Si Tanggang , an old 1961 Malaysian movie -https://ms.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Si_Tanggang_(filem).
It's a folktale about retribution on an ungrateful son. A sailor from a poor family, who sneaks onto a trading ship, works very hard, eventually becoming rich, marrying a princess, and acquiring his own galleon. On his return to his home village, he is ashamed of his humble origins and refuses to recognise his elderly mother. She curses him, and when he sets sail, he and his ship are turned to stone.

Okay, Maybe I didn't get it but "The Dead Don't Die" was one of the worst films I have ever seen. ** spoilers**
I first saw the amazing poster, I then saw the awesome cast, watched the trailer and was happily excited. Went to see it yesterday and I don't think I've been more annoyed at the credits by the end of a film. It started off well but it just ended so so badly.
It was off to an off beat start, I even enjoyed the self reflective joke about the "theme tune" (the song itself got very tiresome very quickly) and I don't mind a slow film - heck, it's one of my favourite types of movies, but at over an hour it still felt like it was setting up. The cinematography was fine, nothing special. Nothing worth noting in the setting, mise, lighting--it was all perfectly fine and apart from that one song over and over (both diegetically and non-diegetically) I can remember no other score.
I'm not overly familiar with the directors style, but this shouldn't act as a bolt locked door to connect with and enjoy the movie. I didn't connect with / believe / enjoy or understand any of the characters motivations. If anything any clues towards this was very on the nose (make America white again). The delivery of lines and interaction between characters was exasperating and just seemed way off tone. Again, this might have been what they were going for, I've seen it in planet of other films (The Killing of A Sacred Deer while not a comedy is a good example of uncomfortable, emotionless delivery) but it was just grating and frustrating to see. There was not chance of chemistry or believability from anyone, and Adam Driver and Bill Murray had so much potential! Maybe it went over my head. And while I feel it was an enjoyable performance from Tila Swindon her character went from intriguing to down right nonsensical.
And the last act was just a train wreck, all this "set - up" led to nothing, it was very anti-climactic, the zombies got confusing? The whole story arc of the kids in the detention centre (why? Why not just normal kids?) was just dropped, the Scottish samurai turned hacker (?) and then was very uncomfortably and confusingly taken away by a UFO (??) everyone died and had a moment as their zombie alter egos which was just cringe rather than funny (the FX and make up were admittedly pretty good) and Bill Murray and Adam Driver have this weird sort-of-breaking-the-4th-wall-but-not "joke" and also "break character" and raise voices etc but it just did not work for me, it all just didnt hit the mark and it left me feeling very unfulfilled. I did not find it funny, I found several characters performances cringe worthy and confusing (Waits, Pop, Buscemi especially). And there was an awkward ham fisted message about consumerism (?) tacked on at the end? sigh.
So I dunno, I guess it went over my head and I hope some people somewhere can enjoy it. I didn't watch Game of Thrones but I imagine this is how people feel.

How do you guys determine the release year of a film?
I’ll give a few examples.
‘They Shall Not Grow Old’ : the WWI documentary from Peter Jackson, first released in the UK last year but first released in the US this year. Do you count it as a 2018 or 2019 film?
‘High Life’ : first premiered in a film festival last year but had its wide release this year. 2018 or 2019 film?
‘Long Day’s Journey Into Night’ : a Chinese film first released in China last year but released worldwide this year. 2018 or 2019 film?
I have noticed people putting High Life and Long Day’s Journey Into Night for their top 2019 films, while They Shall Not Grow Old for their top 2018 films, so I became quite curious. Are they eligible for the 2019 or 2020 Oscars?
Obviously it doesn’t really matter either way, merely something interesting to note.

Millie Bobby Brown vs Zendaya
I feel like Mille Bobby Brown and Zendaya are one of the most prominent rising actresses at the the moment. They both showed exceptional range and have great talent. Not to mention they have fairly big fan followings. Millie impressed me a lot for her performance of Eleven in Stranger Things 3. While Zendaya impressed me for her performance as Rue in Euphoria. While each of them have a great future ahead of them in this business. Who do you think is the better actress of the two.

1990-2018 Graph of "Original" Films vs Sequels, Prequels, Remakes and Franchises in the top 20 Box Office(Domestic)
Graph Explanation: I charted this graph by looking at the top 20 movies (Box office domestic gross) from the year 1990 to 2018
I defined "Original" movies as ether original or adapted screenplays that had never touched the silver screen beforehand (thus entailing risk by the studios for being unproven)
Everything else is ether a prequel, sequel, remake or a franchise(James Bond, Xmen, Marvel, Lethal Weapon, Ice Age ect.) I counted the first such movie (I.E Ice Age) if it was in the Top 20 an Original. I also gave Thor(2011) and Captain America(2011) the benefit of the doubt.
My Takeaway: It's very strange to look at the year 1993 and see that "Sister Act 2" was literally the only film that meets my criteria for a unoriginal movie and then jump to 2018 where we have 17 out of 20 films hitting that criteria.
What I think this graph plots accurately is the transformation of Hollywood into an engine that produces a "Franchise" or "Series". The ball really got rolling in 2001 when Harry Potter, The Fast and the Furious, Lord of the Rings, and Shrek hit theaters. This created a run away chain reaction that culminated with Iron Man(2008) and Hollywood(especially Disney) hasn't looked back since. Unlike older movie franchises like James Bond and Star Trek, Hollywood realized there is far more money to be made the faster you could manufacture one sequel after another.
No major studio seems willing to take a big budget risk on something like the Matrix anymore, and if they do produce a big budget original there is a good chance it flops anyway (see Jupiter Rising and John Carter goes to Mars) So why risk it? The few original blockbusters produced in the last 5 years are almost always with the intention it will blow up into a Franchise, which of course hurts artistic integrity when looking at a movie as a whole, so they fail before they have started.
Movie theaters are undergoing a gradual transformation into a new version of "HBO" or "Netflix" where you can catch the next installment of your favorite series. Paradoxically, modern TV and streaming services are producing shows which are far more movie like then they ever were before (Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things ect.)
I also wanted to make a graph showing reviews averaged out between 1990-2018 in the top 20, but this is very difficult due both to objectivity and the lack of things like IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes in the 90's. Regardless I suspect the general quality of movies has gone down because in an era of stand alone movies (1990-2000) high quality and entertaining films must naturally rise to the top to make money. However, in the era of "Franchises" you can produce absolutely terrible, soulless, badly written films (Beauty and the Beast/The Crimes of Grindlewald/Batman v Superman/any Star Wars outside of the original trilogy) and still rake in hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars.
Unfortunately, if we keep heading in the direction of the chart I fully expect to be watching How to Train Your Dragon 9,Fast&Furious Part 26 and Star Wars XXIV when I walk into the theaters in 2029. Hopefully however, we reach a breaking point between movie quality and unoriginality that forces our beloved movies in new directions.
Link to the doc I made by pulling Top 20 Domestic Gross off Box Office mojo from 1990-2018, "Unoriginal" movies are italicized.

Looking for a sci fi artsy space exploration film that should have come out in recent years. I remember seeing the trailer but can't remember very many details. I thought it had Imogen Poots as a lead, but cant find it on her filmography. Any ideas?
I remember it had an attractive blonde headed woman in a space outfit and at least one older man that had landed in a lush very green off earth looking jungle type environment. It was a very slow and contemplative pace and more artsy than mainstream in it's filmmaking approach. I know that's not much to go on but I'm sure this trailer was one I saw over the past couple of years. Does anyone have any idea at all?

Trying to find the name of a foreign language film i saw the trailer for before The Favourite
This is driving me crazy. There was a trailer i saw for a foreign language film before The Favourite at the end of last year (i believe i saw it opening weekend, so late November 2018). I remember so little about it that googling is failing me. I can't remember the language (big issue #1), but i want to say french. It looked to be a story about maybe high school girls? Or maybe high school students in general. If i remember correctly, the words were subtitled in really stylized graphic forms as people spoke. There's also a chance it was in black and white? or maybe just certain scenes? It all had a kind of youthful, almost punk-rock kind of vibe. I also think the title was long, maybe a whole sentence? I also think the title card at the end of the trailer looked like scribbled/hand written maybe?
Anyone have any ideas?

( Fan Theory) The movie Snowpiecer with Chris Evans is actually a world created by Captain America in his dreams all those years he was frozen in ice.
I was watching Snowpiecer last night which is a great movie and is set in a post apocalyptic earth ice age. Chris Evans is the main character in the movie and plays a rebel leader type. Going along with Chris Evans as Captain America I got to thinking that it's interesting to think of Snowpiecer as a story created in Captain Americas subconscious all that time he was frozen in ice.

Get The Gringo (2012) is a new guilty pleasure of mine
Just saw the film for the first time and honestly was thoroughly enjoying the whole experience. I'm usually not into these kind of mediocre Hollywood action films but this was very refreshing. The pacing is great, so it's never boring. The film doesn't take itself too seriously, it has some funny clever writing and Mel Gibson is just a joy to watch. From a filmmaking perspective it doesn't break any new ground, but thankfully the directing is above average so to keep the film interesting at all times. Anyone else feel the same way?
Also, the trailer for this film is one of my all time favourites. It's just hilarious.

Why doesn’t Christopher Nolan just shoot his entire films on 16:9 ?
I understand that Nolan is an enormous lover of the IMAX format as well as film, and in his films he has several scenes where the IMAX ratio pops out, yet what’s slightly jarring is that it will pop back in to the regular 1.81:1 ration (correct me if I’m wrong about the aspect ratio there). So instead of having these changes in aspect ratio, why not just shoot an entire film in 16:9 (as that is pretty much the same as the IMAX ratio) ?
To my knowledge you are able to shoot film on 16:9, I believe True Detective and Breaking Bad both did that, so why doesn’t Nolan? I think I may be missing a piece that does explain why so please feel free to tell me. Was just wondering this the other day as 16:9 is my favourite aspect ratio.

What are some examples of actors who had a bunch of movies come out in a short period of time? Any particular reason this happens? For example, Jude Law had Aviator, Closer, Sky Captain, and a bunch of movies come out in like 4 months. I was just curious if there is a reason for something like this happening. The Art of Self Defense unofficial discussion thread
Just saw this film last night. I can't remember the last truly dark comedy I saw that was equal parts dark and comedy. The film tackles some complex subjects with such absurdity that it borders on farce, led by strong performances from the three leads, with Alessandro Nivola being the clear stand out.
He's such a captivating villain because throughout the film you do get the impression that he genuinely cares about Casey and the development of his "manhood". He's a charasmatic "Sensei", bordering on cult like. He inspires loyalty, until Casey starts seeing the cracks in psyche.
The film, at it's core, is a scathing condemnation of toxic masculinity presented in a sardonic way. I thought it was excellent, I'd easily give it a 7.5 or 8/10.

The trailer for the upcoming screen adaption of "Cats" based on the Broadway show of the same name currently has 53k likes and 105k dislikes. I feel a lot of people misunderstand how this movie is supposed to be portrayed.
The trailer for those who haven't had the chance to watch.
I've read a lot of the comments bashing this movie that are along the lines of "This makes the Sonic movie look good" and many others that just insult it's "look".
I saw cats on Broadway several times. It was a great stage-show with some great effects. Everything was "bigger" so that the actors/actresses appeared to be the size of cats. The show was as much a musical performance as it was a choreographed ballet performance.
A cat's movement is very graceful when compared to other animals. This is expressed through the dancing, ballet part of the show. The actors/actresses, were they to accurately look and move like a cat, would make the experience less "magical". The answer was to have people that looked like cats but could move more like a human.
With this style, so much more emotion can be expressed through the various performances.
The Broadway show hasn't been around for quite sometime, leaving a lot of people incapable of seeing the portrayals the stage show offered.
This movie was made to resemble the stage show as much as it could while also adding new, more modern elements to the show with the various technologies used in production today.
Not saying this movie is gonna be great or it's just going to absolutely suck. Just think people should understand the origins and why it looks the way it does.

Help idk which actor this actor looks like
I was watching Unstoppable and noticed an actor that I recognized from a movie. I googled him (he's Ethan Suplee) but I haven't seen any of the movies he's starred in. I know for a fact I've watched a movie with a nearly identical actor. These were in his heavier days, so please google it and see if you might possibly have an idea
Tldr; who looks exactly like Ethan suplee in his heavier days and was in a popular movie/show

Who's an actor who's been in so many bad movies you forget they've done some great ones?
I saw the Hustlers trailer and thought how the only movies I could think of J.Lo being in for a while were bad rom-coms. then I remembered she was in Selena which (as far as I'm aware) got really good reviews
Another one I think a lot of people will think of is Melissa McCarthy. She's done so many bad comedies where she's just the "loud and crude" woman I feel people forget she's had her fair share of great roles; Can You Ever Forgive Me got oscar noms, and Spy is brilliant. Pus I think a small part of the hate comes from the Ghostbusters reception

What genre would you list PULP FICTION in?
Was watching PF last night, and it struck me odd at how funny I found the movie, despite its more disturbing/tense moments. I see it as something of a dark comedy, but to be honest I've always had a dark sense of humor. "I shot Marvin in the face" is a line that makes me keel over from laughter.
What category/genre do you think it fits best in?

Can not figure out the name of this movie please help
In this weird, low budget movie that was on Netflix around 2015, the main character is a stoner/skater/low life person who bangs some hoor in the schools bathroom and she gets in trouble. He then goes to the beach and gets a bj from some random chick he just met and starts dating her. He then cheats on her with the first chick who ends up being the other girls sister/friend/acquaintance/classmate idk. This movie is perhaps the worst movie ever made and I cannot for the life of me remember what the name was or who was in it. Please help me so I contribute to a worst movie ever made conversation.

What Is A Unintentionally Creepy Moment In A Film That It's Meant To Be Disturbing And Scary?
For me, it would be have to have to be that sexual scene in the oil slick story of "Creepshow 2". The guy haves a defenseless girl asleep next to him and he starts lifting her shirt, kissing her body and seems he was about to fuck her until the monster got her. This is portrayed as romantic in a way but he was doing this without her consent, which makes it sexual harrassment and they aren't actually engaged in a love relationship. She takes advantage of her in that moment and the film isn't aware of this. But to be fair, he did got killed by the monster.

The Joker Movie owes Comic Book Fanboys NOTHING
The Joker film is the only movie I'm really looking forward to. Not because its about the joker, as I think having film about the joker with no batman is stupid.
It's because it stars one of my favourite actors. That is where my excitement comes from and anyone who has seen Gladiator or The Master knows what he is capable of. So this notion of the movie having to pander to some comic book storyline and fanboys being angry that they are merely using the joker name and wont make it another DCEU movie is laughable.
My fear is that it tries to be yet another comic book movie or part of an expanded universe. Leave that to MCU.
I just want to watch a good film. Isn't that enough in today's world? Why should filmmakers even be fearful of comic book fanboys hating them if they don't religiously follow the source material.
Key word: ADAPTATION

What's the deal with Brad in Spider-Man Far From Home? [light spoilers]
Just saw Far From Home and wanted to get some insight on this.
So if Brad (the other guy who likes MJ and took the picture of Peter with his pants down) didn't get snapped and grew 5 years, why is he still in the same grade/on the same trip as Peter and his friends? Wouldn't he be likely in the middle of college at this point in his life? I couldn't stop thinking about this and was wondering if I had missed anything that explained why this was.

As comically overrated as Avengers: Infinity War is by social media (and the Internet in general, *cough* TheTopTens for example *cough*), can we just talk for a second about how the film realistically had no right to even be as AVERAGE, let alone good, as it objectively was?
Seriously, almost every possible thing about Infinity War was an absolutely terrible sign right from the get-go, such as:
- The film having a main villain whose visual rendering in it is comprised entirely of CGI (remember how this previously turned out with Steppenwolf in Justice League 2017? If not, then you should definitely consider yourself lucky to not have wasted your time with that garbage)
- The film being the third installment of a trilogy (cough, Spider-Man 3, Batman Forever, Superman III, Iron Man 3, cough)
- The overall visual output of the film itself being literally about 95 percent CGI effects...that are also quite the mixed bag as well, looking outright jaw-dropping on Thanos himself (not to mention planet Vormir) but looking downright mediocre in most other places (particularly the alien monster army that Thor and Black Panther fight in Wakanda near the end of the film)
- The film being a superhero one whose main gimmick is being "Darker And Edgier" than most of the others (cough, Spider-Man 3, X-Men 3, Age Of Ultron, Dark Phoenix, Iron Man 3, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Black Panther, the Michael Bay Transformers Saga, Dawn Of Justice, Venom 2018, Joker 2019, Man Of Steel, 300, the Ghost Rider Duology, Dark Knight Rises when compared to Dark Knight proper, Watchmen when compared to the original Watchmen comics, the Blade trilogy apart from Blade II, cough)
- The film being ludicrously overstuffed with characters (despite thankfully only having one really major villain regardless) and only having about 140 minutes to tie all of their in-movie arcs together and keep its central focus on Thanos intact all the while while still feeling incredibly overlong in the process (not to mention that its plot structure technically lacks a first act)
- The film being released only three years after Age Of Ultron (which was released three years after the first Avengers and turned out to be a complete train wreck of a sequel in almost literally every possible way that one could feasibly imagine)
- The entirety of both the film itself and its fanbase basically amounting to a great big comic-book fanservice circle-jerk
- The film being called "Infinity" War when it isn't even as long as Endgame (also sounds like Infinite Warfare and Infinity Ward)
- The film making an incredibly huge deal out of not having a white male lead character for once (cough, Elektra, Halle Berry's Catwoman, Black Panther 2018, Captain Marvel 2019, Supergirl 1984, Wonder Woman 2017, Steel 1997, cough)
- The film seriously expecting you to take its twist ending seriously when it is so obviously going to be retconned
...yet the film still managed to pull off all of these things remarkably passably. I know I'm not the only one shocked by this either

Weird eye color change
I was looking at my head with a flashlight in a mirror, when I accidentally opened my eye. It looked weirdly green, which is odd considering I have brown eyes. What is the cause of this?

Fandango can suck it....
So I purchased tickets online via Fandango (checked out as a guest) and started heading to the show. I get to the theater and cant find the confirmation email with my tickets. I try everything to try and access the tickets I bought and NOTHING. I made a Fandango VIP account bc supposedly you can see the tickets you purchased even as a guest, but still the tickets weren’t in my history. Couldn’t find them anywhere.... so I’m forced to buy tickets again which is extremely annoying but I assume I can probably get a refund since I literally had ZERO access to my tickets.
I call customer service and they tell me I misspelled my email which is why I couldn’t find the tickets . This is a valid reason and I should’ve double checked my email. This was a mistake on my part.
BUT I had to jump through hoops for customer service to eventually DENY my request for a refund about 4 days later. I had to provide a screenshot of my BANK STATEMENT proving that I bought a second pair of tickets.
The way the customer service rep explained to me my mistake about misspelling my email, it sounded like this happens a lot.
There should be some sort of fail safe or backup in case this happens to customers, since it’s such a common occurrence. OR AT THE VERY LEAST a “confirm email” section when purchasing tickets. IF EMAIL IS THE ONLY WAY YOU RECEIVE YOUR TICKETS WHY ISN’T THIS PART OF THE PURCHASE CONFIRMED???
It’s honestly just absolutely ridiculous to me that this can happen with such a large company. Suffice it to say, I’m never using fandango again...
LONG STORY SHORT: Bought tickets on fandango, never received my tickets in my email. Had to buy a SECOND pair of tickets at the theater. After calling Customer service, it turned out I misspelled my email which is why I couldn’t find my tickets. I tried to get a refund and I was DENIED. Even had to send them a bank statement proving that I bought a second pair of tickets. I don’t even really care about the money, it’s just the fact that is even a common occurrence with nothing to help the customer if this happens.
